Rémy Cointreau has released a clear spirit extension of its flagship Rémy Martin cognac brand, called Rémy V.

The spirit, produced using French grapes, has been designed to catch the attention of “a new generation of drinkers” and “lighter, daytime drinking occasions”, Rémy said in a press release today (3 March). The brand owner described Rémy V as having “fruity and floral flavours with hints of citrus and mint”.

Rémy V is distilled on lees in copper pot stills and has an ABV of 35%. The expression carries an SRP of US$34.99 per 75cl bottle, and has gone on sale in the on- and off-premise channels in the US, as well as on the Rémy Martin website.

“The launch is a response to the rise of cocktail culture and a shift toward more ‘sessionable’ spirits. While our traditional cognac portfolio is often savoured neat, Rémy V satisfies a different demand moment,” a spokesperson told Global Drinks Intel.

The launch is accompanied by marketing activity fronted by internet personality Tefi Pessoa. The campaign, which has the slogan ‘it’s V you’, features monthly sweepstakes with prizes including limited-edition summer “accessories” designed by Pessoa and a holiday to Miami. The competition will run until September.

Pessoa has also been dubbed “the voice of the spirit”, and the partnership includes branded social media content on her channels.

The NPD has echoes of Pernod Ricard’s Crystalgold extension of Chivas Regal last year. The spirit drink is created by filtering what the group’s Chivas Brothers unit called “oak-aged spirit” and is sourced from a “bespoke, exclusive blend that is refined through a … process involving special temperature conditions and precisely measured flow rates”.

In its Q3 results, announced in January, Rémy Cointreau pulled its top line closer to year-on-year parity, with fiscal 2026 sitting at almost 2% down in its first nine months. Cognac sales rose by 3.2% in the quarter but for the nine-month period remained in the red, at -4.3%.
