Recently formed wine group Vinarchy has announced the appointment of an MD for its operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Nicole Battistessa (above) has been recruited to assume the position from next month. Global Drinks Intel has contacted the company for clarity on whether the role has been newly created or a personnel change has occurred.
Battistessa joins Vinarchy, which will celebrate its first anniversary in the coming months, from Nestlé, with whom she started in 2004. She is the group’s current director of digital transformation & IT, based out of Australia.
In her new role, she will “oversee commercial operations and distribution of the company’s leading wine brands, including Jacob’s Creek, Hardys, Stoneleigh, Brancott Estate, Petaluma, St Hallett and Croser”.
In August, Vinarchy, which was created through a combination of Accolade Wines’ operations and the purchase of a raft of wine brands from Pernod Ricard, recruited Amanda Almond from Bacardi as the MD of its operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
