Vinarchy has appointed Amanda Almond as the MD of its operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Almond (below) replaces Derek Nicol who will “step down and pursue other opportunities”, according to the wine group. She will begin in the role on 1 September.
The incoming MD most recently led Bacardi’s businesses in North Europe, having also overseen Iberia and Greece as well as the UK and Ireland, initially joining the spirits brand owner in 2013. Prior to her 12 years at Bacardi, which came to an end last month, Almond worked at PepsiCo and Lindt & Sprungli.
“She brings a great mix of industry knowledge, strategic thinking and people-first leadership,” said Vinarchy’s chair, Ben Clarke. “Her experience and energy will be a great asset as we continue to grow our presence across EMEA.”
Last month, Vinarchy, the name for the consolidated operations of Accolade Wines and the majority of Pernod Ricard’s former wine assets, released details of its board of directors, which features two former senior beverage alcohol executives, one from Berry, Bros & Rudd and Diageo.
