US-based Evergreen Family Wines has acquired Luke, the Washington label known for its cabernet sauvignon and merlot.

The deal formalises a decade-long production partnership between the two companies, with Luke wines having been made at Evergreen’s Mattawa facility since the label’s launch in 2012. Luke’s founders Kristin and Thomas Vogele will remain involved for the next three years to help steer the transition.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“Our immediate focus will be on producing superior wines from our Estate Vineyards while expanding Luke’s distribution throughout the US and internationally,” said Evergreen co-owner Brandon Rice.

Evergreen Family Wines claims to be Washington’s largest “family-owned grape-to-bottle wine company” with facilities in Mattawa and Quincy and 3,000 acres of vineyards farmed in the Wahluke Slope and Ancient Lakes regions of the Columbia Valley.

Last month, US wine company WarRoom Cellars acquired the California-based SIMI brand from The Wine Group.
