Coterie Holdings-owned Hallgarten & Novum Wines has confirmed that MD Andrew Bewes will leave the business next year.
Bewes (below) will depart the UK-based importer-distributor at the end of March after 16 years in the role. While Coterie did not release details of a succession plan, information on Bewes’ next step was also not immediately available.
Before joining the business in 2009, Bewes worked in senior commercial roles at Liberty Wines and Berkmann Wine Cellars. During his tenure at Hallgarten & Novum, the incumbent MD also led the unit through its acquisition by high-end wine group Coterie in 2023.
“On behalf of the entire team, I want to extend our profound gratitude to Andrew for his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment,” said Coterie Holdings CEO Michael Saunders. “His vision has built Hallgarten into the benchmark for quality and service in the UK wine trade. He has been a pivotal partner during the acquisition and has laid an outstanding foundation for future success.”
Earlier this month, Coterie acquired Links Concept Family Wine Merchants, a Hong Kong-based wine importer and distributor.
