Suntory Global Spirits has opened its first permanent ‘House of Suntory’-branded store in Oceania through a partnership with global travel retail operator Gebr.Heinemann’s division in the region.
The nine-square-metre unit, located in Sydney airport’s main departures store, features Suntory’s Japanese whisky and white spirits portfolio, including Yamazaki, Hibiki, Hakushu, Roku Gin and Haku Vodka. The site includes a sampling area and will showcase limited-edition releases such as Yamazaki 18 Years Mizunara and Hibiki’s collaboration with artist Hiroshi Senju.
The store also includes an ‘Art of Gifting’ counter, where travellers can personalise their purchases.
In September, Suntory Global Spirits recruited actor Willem Dafoe to front the latest activation from single malt brand Laphroaig’s current worldwide marketing platform.
