Proximo Spirits has expanded its 1800 Tequila portfolio with the launch of two higher-ABV versions of its blanco and reposado expressions, both bottled at 45%.
The new 1800 ‘High Proof’ editions are rolling out across the US in 37.5cl formats, compared to their 70cl counterparts at 40% ABV. High Proof Blanco is double-distilled and blended from a selection of white tequilas, while High Proof Reposado is aged in new American and French oak casks.
The two-strong range will be available through the brand’s website and selected US off-premise operators, including Luxor Liquors in Michigan, Wine & Liquor Superstore in the New York metro area and VIP Liquors in south Florida. The per-bottle SRPs are US$18.99 for the blanco and $19.99 for the reposado.
Last month, Proximo, which oversees the Jose Cuervo tequila brand for parent company Cuervo, posted its first quarter of rising sales (+0.9%) in the calendar year so far.
