Carlsberg Group’s Lao Brewery Co unit has signed a 15-year extension of its current bottling arrangement with PepsiCo in Laos.
The move covers PepsiCo’s beverage portfolio in the country, including Pepsi, Mirinda, 7UP and Sting. Lao Brewery said the deal “reflects its alignment” with Carlsberg’s ‘Accelerate SAIL’27’ strategy and will build on its role in developing the CSD category in Laos.
The collaboration had previously been expanded this year to include PepsiCo’s snack brands in January and Lipton ready-to-drink tea in July.
Carlsberg is one of PepsiCo’s global partners, currently handling bottling operations in seven markets: Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, the UK & Ireland, Cambodia and Laos. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are set to join the network next year.
Last month, Carlsberg inaugurated a US$90m expansion of one of its brewing facilities in Vietnam, increasing capacity by 50% and making it the group’s largest production site in Asia.
