Pernod Ricard has unveiled its latest tie-up with a soft-drink brand owner for a new RTD, this time for its Malibu flavoured rum mark.
The arrangement, announced today (20 August), sees Malibu partner with Dole Food Co and its namesake pineapple juice for a four-strong set of SKUs. Malibu & Dole Pineapple Dragon Fruit, Pineapple, Pineapple Mango and Pineapple Strawberry will roll out nationwide in the US in “early 2026”, according to the two companies.
The line extension will be produced, distributed and marketed by Pernod Ricard’s US division.
Two of the variants – Pineapple and Pineapple Mango – will be available in 56.8cl cans, while all four will feature in an eight-can variety pack in 35.5cl sizes.
“Malibu & Dole have had a long-standing relationship and have been enjoyed together by our consumers in bars and homes across the country for many years,” said Pernod Ricard USA’s GM for RTD & convenience, Natalie Accari. “This innovation takes our consumers’ favourite serve and makes it even more accessible in a convenient format.”
Two years ago, Pernod Ricard made two similar moves, both with Absolut vodka: In May 2023, Ocean Spray came on board for a vodka cranberry RTD, followed five months later by Absolut & Sprite, the result of a tie-up with The Coca-Cola Co.
Similar co-brands include Brown-Forman’s Jack Daniel’s & Coke as well as Bacardi & Coke, the former from mid-2022 while the latter was unveiled 11 months ago.
