Another premix featuring Coca-Cola is being primed to launch globally, this time with Bacardi’s namesake rum brand.

Bacardi Mixed with Coca-Cola will debut next year in selected European markets as well as in Mexico, Bacardi and The Coca-Cola Co have confirmed. With an ABV of 5%, although the strength “will vary depending on the market”, the RTD will be packaged in 35.5cl cans.

The latest co-brand comes just over two years after Brown-Forman unveiled its Jack Daniel’s & Coke extension and 11 months since Pernod Ricard’s Absolut vodka was paired with Coca-Cola’s Sprite soft drinks brand.

“Through this relationship, we will expand our reach and accessibility so that even more consumers of legal drinking age can enjoy this classic Bacardi rum and Coca-Cola cocktail” said group CEO Mahesh Madhavan.

The rum-and-cola serve, better known as the Cuba Libre, originated in Havana in 1900 and comprised Bacardi rum with Coca-Cola.

In July, the spirits brand owner partnered with Camila Cabello for a limited edition vinyl pressing of the Cuban-born singer/songwriter’s latest album made using bioplastic vinyl derived from sugarcane.
