The name change follows a number of spirits-related transactions by the California-based company.

Two years ahead of its 30th anniversary, Foley Family Wines has updated its “corporate identity” to reflect the business’s recent entry into the spirits category.

The privately-owned company, which started its expansion beyond wine last year, is now called Foley Family Wines & Spirits. The move recognises the relaunches 12 months ago of Charles Goodnight Texas Straight bourbon and Lighthouse gin (the latter from New Zealand) by the group in the US in 2023.

The spirits presence was bolstered 14 months ago by the purchase of a distillery on the border of California and Nevada as well as a worldwide distribution agreement in April for the El Mexicano tequila brand outside of Mexico. Since then, FFWS has also added the Two Stacks and Killowen Irish whiskies to its US distribution operations.

“As a natural next step, our corporate identity now reflects the breadth of our platform,” said CMO Jason Daniel. “We are excited about the pace of Foley’s strategic expansion and the exceptional quality and credibility of our growing portfolio of award-winning spirits.”

With a wine portfolio of around 20 brands from regions including Argentina, France and New Zealand – as well as California – FFWS claims to be the “second-fastest-growing wine company in the US$15+ [per-bottle] category in the US, at +11%”.
