Sierra tequila owner Borco has nailed down a permanent MD as interim lead Manuel Janisch makes way for Nicolas Rampf.
The switch at the Hamburg-based brand owner and distributor brings to an end Janisch’s time in the role, which commenced in September as part of Stock Spirits’ takeover, announced two months earlier. Rampf, who starts as MD this month, left Bacardi at the end of December.
During his two stints with Bacardi, the first from 2011 to late 2016 then again from mid 2019, saw Rampf move up to become MD for the ‘DACH’ region – Germany, Austria and Switzerland – for four-and-a-half years up to his departure. In his new post, he will be charged with “continuing the global expansion of … Sierra.”
“Nicolas Rampf brings his extensive experience from the spirits industry and beyond and will undoubtedly strengthen our company in the implementation of our strategy,” said Stock Spirits’ CEO and former Chivas Brother head at Pernod Ricard, Jean-Christophe Coutures. “We … welcome him to the Stock Spirits Group.”
As well as Borco’s Sierra and Finsbury Gin brands, Stock is a major operator in Central & Eastern Europe’s vodka market through the likes of Żołądkowa. The privately-held group also acquired blended Scotch whisky Clan Campbell from Pernod Ricard last year.
