Pernod Ricard-controlled Château Sainte Marguerite has added to its vineyard area in France’s Côtes-de-Provence wine region, acquiring the Aux Terres de Ravel estate in the AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée).

The transaction, announced earlier this week, will bring a further 280 hectares under Sainte Marguerite’s ownership. Once complete later this year, the purchase leaves the Provence rosé producer, which owns the Fantastique, Marguerite en Provence and Symphonie higher-end brands, with a total of 500 hectares of vineyard in the AOC.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Pernod Ricard bought into Sainte Marguerite in early 2022, with founding family the Fayards remaining in place on an operational basis. The winery, which is “one of the 18 prestigious ‘cru classé’ wines of Provence”, according to founder Jean-Pierre Fayard, was folded into Pernod Ricard’s Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët division in December.
