Gallo has signed a “multi-year” deal with Major League Baseball (MLB) in the US for Mark West that will see the brand become the competition’s ‘official wine’.
From this season – which begins with its ‘Opening Night’ game tomorrow (25 March) – the wine brand will be advertised alongside MLB on broadcast, digital and social platforms. Spend on the marketing campaign, ‘On the Mark’, was not disclosed.
“Baseball has always been about connection – shared moments, traditions, and the thrill of being part of something bigger,” said Gallo’s CCO, Britt West. “With our MLB partnership, Mark West is bringing that spirit to life in a new way.”
This week’s tie-up follows a similar sporting marketing arrangement secured last year, when Gallo signed a deal with the US Tennis Association (USTA) to have its Clos du Bois brand as the “official wine” of the US Open.
Last month, the wine and spirits giant announced a series of redundancies in California and the closure of The Ranch Winery.
