The head of Pernod Ricard's Europe, Middle East & Africa and Latin America businesses has maintained an upbeat tone about the future for premium spirits despite the current macroeconomic headwinds.
On a call with analysts this week, Gilles Bogaert, who was group CFO until 2018, fielded a question on the risk for spirits in general and Pernod Ricard specifically of consumers trading down. In his response, Bogaert described the company's sales performance, which in the three months to the end of September was up 11%, as "so far, so good".
