The new whisky unveiled by Pernod Ricard this week, described by the company as "China’s first prestige malt whisky", also features liquid distilled in Scotland, Global Drinks Intel has learned.
The Chuan Pure Malt Whisky, which has debuted domestically this week, is a no-age-statement expression that comes just over two years after Pernod Ricard's newly-built distillery in the country commenced operations. While the whisky comprises spirit produced at the facility in China's Sichuan province, Global Drinks Intel has discovered that the iteration also includes Scottish whisky.
