Canadian beverage alcohol distributor Topikos Spirit & Beverage Co has added a second vodka to its owned brand portfolio, buying domestic “local favourite” Ren from Delta Spirits Co.
The Toronto-based group, which commenced operations last year and was the vodka’s distribution partner, has spent an undisclosed sum on Ren. The high-end vodka, which is produced in Ontario and carries a retail price point of around CAD52 (US$37.60) per bottle, joins the Mailroom brand in Topikos’ vodka portfolio.
Also hailing from Ontario, Mailroom has an SRP of CAD38 per bottle.
Topikos was co-founded by Peter Kourtis, whose career in beverage alcohol has included almost 15 years with Diageo in the US and Canada and just over a year with Pernod Ricard’s Canadian affiliate, Corby Spirit and Wine.
“Ren Vodka has built a passionate local following, a result of our … ultra-premium experience – a true testament to Canadian-made spirits,” said the brand’s co-founder, Nicoletta Millis, who also worked for Diageo, between 2008 and 2014.
In June, Topikos took on the distribution responsibilities in Canada for Constellation Brands’ spirits stable.
