Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 8 July.

Delamain Cognac’s L’Oiseau Rare

  • Cognac, produced using grapes from the Grande Champagne region, matured for an unspecified period – “a decades-long period” – in seasoned oak
  • Launching worldwide this week in the global travel retail channel and “selected premises”
  • SRP of EUR1,500 (US$1,630) per unit

Loch Lomond Group’s Ben Lomond Non-Alcoholic Botanical Spirit

  • ‘Gin’ – botanical spirit –  botanicals include rowan berries, blackcurrants, juniper, orange peel and red peppercorns, “less than 0.5% ABV”
  • On sale from this week through the Ben Lomond website
  • SRP of GBP22 (US$28) per bottle

Gin brand Ben Lomond now has a no-alcohol extension that is "inspired" by its full-strength sibling

Illva Saronno’s Rump@blic range

  • Rums, four expressions – Sicilian Legacy (43% ABV) is a Jamaican blend matured in an ex-marsala florio cask that is a “one-off single batch”, while the Origins line comprises African Rum Identity, Indochina Rum Identity and Spanish Rum Identity, all of which have an ABV of 41.5%
  • Debuting in the UK this week
  • SRPs of GBP37.05 (US$47.50) for Sicilian Legacy, GBP32.80 for the Origins range, all in 70cl bottles

William Grant & Sons’ Glenfiddich 1985

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Speyside, 39 years old. The whisky spent 16 years in American oak casks and was then transferred to ex-oloroso sherry European oak casks for 23 years, 54.8% ABV
  • The single cask will be auctioned online through BlockBar between 8 and 24 July. Once the auction has closed, the liquid will be bottled, resulting in an estimated 150 70cl bottles
  • Estimated price of between US$750,000 and $1.2m. The lot also includes a visit to and overnight stay at the Glenfiddich distillery

Set to be bottled in September, the 39-year-old iteration will be represented by 150 NFTs - one per bottle - that can be sold or gifted immediately or be redeemed for a physical bottle from February next year

Douglas Laing & Co’s Rock Island Tequila Cask Edition blend

  • Scotch whisky, blended, finished for an unspecified period in ex-tequila casks, 48% ABV
  • Released worldwide as a limited edition this week
  • SRP in the UK of GBP65 (US$83) per 70cl bottle

Loch Lomond Group’s Loch Lomond 50 Year Old

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Highland, 50 years old. The liquid started its maturation in refill American oak casks, then was moved to first-fill ex-bourbon casks after 38 years before spending its final six years in ex-oloroso sherry hogsheads, 42.6% ABV
  • Available online from this week along with through specialist spirits outlets in the off-premise worldwide
  • SRP of GBP25,000 (US$32,040) per unit, limited to 100 bottles

This 50-year-old single malt contains some of the oldest reserves from Loch Lomond distillery, which commenced operations at its current site in 1966

William Grant & Sons’ The Glenfiddich Archive Collection American Oak Hogshead 1990 33-Year-Old

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Speyside, 33 years old, aged for its duration in an American oak hogshead, 48.2% ABV
  • An exclusive to the global travel retail channel through operator Gebr Heinemann in its Amsterdam Schipol, Frankfurt and Istanbul airport outlets
  • SRP of EUR3,990 (US$4,320), limited to 276 units

Glenfiddich's annual 'Archive Collection' returns with ten single-cask expressions ranging from 33 to 36 years old, led by this GTR-only iteration

The GlenAllachie 10-year-old Ruby Port Cask Finish and 12-year-old Sauternes Wine Cask Finish

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Speyside, ten and 12 years old, both matured in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished for unspecified periods in ex-ruby port and -Bordeaux sauternes wine casks, respectively. Both carry an ABV of 48%
  • The ten-year-old will be available exclusively in unspecified European markets while the 12-year-old is on sale in the UK only
  • SRPs of GBP61.99 (US$79.50) and GBP67.99, respectively

The GlenAllachie Distillers Co has added these two cask finished expressions to its namesake brand's 'Wood Collection'

Coachbuilt Whisky and Williams Racing’s 18-Year-Old blend

  • Scotch whisky, blended, 18 years old, aged in a mix of ex-bourbon and -sherry casks, 48% ABV
  • Released online and through off-premise spirits specialists in the UK next month
  • SRP of GBP230 (US$295) per 70cl bottle, limited to 3,000 units
