Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 21 November.

Loch Lomond Group’s Loch Lomond Distillery Edition single malt

The first ‘Distillery Edition’ from Loch Lomond will be backed by a tie-up with London bakery Bread Ahead that features an online video
  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Highlands, nine years old, 57.1% ABV
  • On sale from this week, available globally online from the brand’s website
  • SRP of GBP65 [US$79] per 70cl bottle, limited to 265 units

Pernod Ricard’s Royal Salute ‘Forces of Nature by Kate MccGwire’ blended Scotch

‘The Art of Wonder’ is a new art-based series from Royal Salute, with the debut expression – a 53-year-old blend – retailing at US$90,000 per unit
  • Scotch whisky, blended, 53 years old, 41.4% ABV
  • Available worldwide from “selected specialist retailers” since last month
  • SRP of US$90,000 per unit – limited to 21 – comprising a gold-leaf decanter, a piece of specifically-commissioned art by UK sculptor Kate MccGwire and a wooden cabinet

Loch Lomond Group’s Glen Scotia Seasonal Release 2022 single malt

The unpeated single malt has been aged in first-fill Bourbon barrels followed by a one-year finish in ex-Amontillado Sherry casks
  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Campbelltown, 12 years old, 53.3% ABV
  • Launched in limited numbers last month, available online and worldwide through specialist spirits outlets in the off-premise
  • In the UK, SRP of GBP80 [US$96] per 70cl bottle

Radico Khaitan’s Jaisalmer Indian gin Gold Edition

The second expression in Radico Khaitan’s Jaisalmer portfolio uses 18 botanicals, including saffron and Darjeeling green tea
  • Gin, India, featuring saffron as one of its 18 botanicals, 43% ABV
  • Available online in the UK from this week
  • SRP of GBP39.99 [US$48] per 50cl bottle

Barrell Craft Spirits’ Stellum Black American whiskies

The latest brace from Barrell Craft Spirits’ Stellum brand sit under the Stellum Black sub-brand name
  • American whiskies, cask strength, blends of Bourbon and rye whiskey from Indiana with “older Bourbons/ryes from Kentucky and Tennessee”. Hunter’s Moon and The Lone Cypress both have ABVs of 57.7%
  • Rolling out to the US off-premise and online through Stellum’s website this week
  • SRPs of $99 each per 75cl bottle, available in limited numbers

Bacardi’s Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Port Wine Barrels

  • American whiskey, Bourbon, 59.9% ABV
  • Available nationwide in the US off-premise channel since 1 November
  • SRP of $229.99 per 75cl bottle, limited to 16,980 units

Nearest Green Distillery’s Uncle Nearest American whiskies

Single Barrel Black Label, Straight Rye and Single Barrel Rye will join the Uncle Nearest stable before this month
  • American whiskies. The Straight Rye [50% ABV] is sourced from Canada, aged for four years minimum in New York then finished and blended in Tennessee
  • On sale online in the US
  • SRP of $50 per 75cl bottle of Straight Rye, $79 for Single Barrel Black Label [59.2% ABV, available from Friday] and $89 for Single Barrel Rye [also 59.2% ABV, released in mid-December]

Cuervo’s Gran Centenario Cristalino Tequila

The Cristalino expression joins the Añejo, Leyenda, Plata and Reposado iterations in Gran Centenario’s US portfolio
  • Tequila, Cristalino, a blend of Añejo and Extra Añejo expressions that is matured in American oak barrels, then finished in ex-Calvados casks, 40% ABV
  • Released this month in the US on- and off-premise channels
  • SRP of $79.99 per 75cl bottle

Stoli Group’s Kentucky Owl Mardi Gras XO Cask and Batch #12 American whiskies

The Mardi Gras XO Cask is an 11-year-old Kentucky Straight Rye finished in ex-rum casks from Louisiana-based Bayou Rum. Batch #12 is a blend of seven-to-14-year-old and two four-year-old Bourbons
  • American whiskey. Mardi Gras XO Cask has an ABV of 51.4%, Batch #12 is 57.9%
  • Both are available in the US from this week in limited numbers
  • SRPs: Mardi Gras XO Cask costs $500 per 75cl bottle, Batch #12 is $400

Sagamore Spirit’s Bottled in Bond Straight Rye American whiskey

Baltimore-based Sagamore Spirit’s second annual bottled-in-bond rye whiskey has been aged for five years in new American oak barrels
  • American whiskey, Maryland, blend of two rye whiskies, 50% ABV
  • Available in “select markets” in the US in limited – albeit unspecified – numbers
  • SRP of $59.99 per 75cl bottle
