Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 13 March.

Luxco’s Lux Row Distillers Rebel 100 Straight Rye Whiskey

Kentucky-based Luxco has upped the ABV for a new rye-based extension of Rebel 100 Bourbon
  • American whiskey, mash bill of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malt, 50% ABV
  • Hitting the US off-premise channel later this month
  • SRP of US$19.99 per 75cl bottle

Bhakta Spirits’ Bhakta 2013 Bourbon

Set up by Whistlepig Whiskey founder Raj Peter Bhakta, Bhakta Spirits is debuting an aged Bourbon that has been finished in ex-Armagnac casks
  • American whiskey, Bourbon, distilled in 2013, 50.3% ABV
  • Rolling out this month to 12 US states – California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Wisconsin – then heading to Michigan in April
  • SRP of US$149 per 75cl bottle, limited to 24,000 units

Diageo’s Oban Young Teddy single malt Scotch whisky

Like its predecessor Old Teddy, which was released in 2019, Oban Young Teddy pays homage to the Maclean family, who have been represented at the distillery since 1953
  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Highlands, finished in ex-Palo Cortado and -Oloroso Sherry casks, 50.8% ABV
  • Released as a distillery-exclusive next week, limited to 4,542 units
  • SRP of GBP195 [US$236] per 70cl bottle

Silent Pool Distillers’ Silent Pool Black Juniper Gin

UK-based craft distiller Silent Pool has sourced black juniper grown at a minimum altitude of 4,000 metres for an extension of its namesake gin
  • Gin, botanicals include black juniper from Bhutan and “Himalayan black tea” from Nepal, 43%ABV
  • Rolling out this week in the UK as well as in the Global Travel Retail channel at London Heathrow Airport [LHR] and Dubai International Airport [DXB]
  • In the UK, SRP of GBP295 [US$357] per 1-litre bottle

Brown-Forman’s Jack Daniel’s 10-Year-Old Batch 2 & 12-Year-Old whiskey

The pair are both from Jack Daniel’s ‘Aged Series’, which comprises annual releases
  • American whiskey, Tennessee, ABVs of 48.5% and 53.5%, respectively
  • Available across the US this month in limited numbers
  • SRPs of $70 and $80, respectively, per 70cl bottles

Bardstown Bourbon Co’s Green River Wheated & Full Proof Single Barrel Bourbons

Eight months after acquiring Green River Distilling Co, Bardstown Bourbon Co is growing the Green River brand in the US
  • American whiskey, Bourbons, Kentucky, ABVs of 45% and 59.5%, respectively
  • Released this month in the US to 25 markets, an increase from the brand’s previous four-state presence
  • SRPs of $34.99 and $59.99, respectively, per 75cl bottles. Green River Full Proof Single Barrel is offered annually to off-premise operators to select a barrel themselves from which the Bourbon is drawn for sale to consumers
