‘Tequila is a category that will be driven by premiumisation’ – Proximo Spirits’ MD of EMEA, Asia Pacific & GTR, Shane Hoyne, speaks to Global Drinks Intel
Shane Hoyne could justifiably be referred to as an industry veteran. His career in alcohol, which started back in 1999 with Heineken, was extended earlier this year when he joined Proximo Spirits as MD for Europe, Middle East & Africa, Asia Pacific and global travel retail. Global Drinks Intel editor Olly Wehring sat down with him earlier this month to hear about what he’s inherited at the Jose Cuervo brand owner and what he has in mind for the future.

Olly has been reporting on the beverage industry as a B2B journalist since 2003. He spent 18 years at Just Drinks, 16 of which as managing editor. Since joining Global Drinks Intel in 2022, he's interviewed the CEOs for brand owners including AB InBev, Campari Group, Carlsberg, Heineken and Suntory Global Spirits and has a bulging contacts book from across beverage alcohol worldwide.
