Sazerac Co has bought Texas-based Western Son Vodka and Distillery, expanding both its spirits portfolio and production footprint.
The deal, announced today (1 October), adds Western Son’s range of small-batch vodkas and gin to Sazerac’s line-up, which includes Buffalo Trace bourbon, Fireball Cinnamon whisky, Southern Comfort, Svedka vodka and Myers’s rum. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Western Son was launched in 2011 and produces its vodka in Texas as well as a range of flavour extensions, including blueberry, lemon and strawberry. The company also owns a gin.
“[Western Son] has created a strong brand and it provides us an opportunity to continue to augment our portfolio, while also adding additional production capacity and capabilities to our network,” said Sazerac CEO Jake Wenz.
Late last year, Sazerac purchased the Svedka vodka brand from Constellation Brands for an undisclosed fee. In March 2024, the privately-owned group acquired the BuzzBallz premix cocktail brand.
