Proximo Spirits is spotlighting Colorado “trailblazers” as part of an activation in the US for Its Stranahan’s American single malt.
The brand, which is produced at its distillery in Denver, has launched a digital & OOH campaign centred around a list of 150 historic and current residents of Colorado, to mark the US state’s 150th anniversary this year. Stranahan’s kicked off its “summer-long celebration” yesterday (16 July) with the release of a nine-minute film (below) interviewing members of the ‘Colorado 150: The Pioneers’ list.
“Inspired by Stranahan’s standing as a Colorado-based pioneer of American single malt whiskey, the initiative recognises trailblazers across food, arts, outdoor recreation, conservation, sports, hospitality, business and community leadership – honouring both historic figures and modern-day originals whose influence continues to define Colorado today,” Proximo said.
The list includes Dale Katechis, founder of Oskar Blues Brewery, who according to Stranahan’s, “revolutionised craft beer by pioneering the use of cans, helping expand the reach of independent breweries nationwide”.
In April, consumers were invited to vote for people they thought should be on the list via the brand’s Instagram account (below).
Alongside digital activations, Stranahan’s is holding a ‘Colorado Day Bash’ event at the distillery on 1 August. The brand’s ‘Whiskey Lodge’ in Aspen will also be selling limited-edition cocktails, “inspired by the spirit of the state”, this summer.
Last month, Proximo released details of a packaging upgrade for Black Bush, the sibling of Irish whiskey flagship brand Bushmills. Both Black Bush and Bushmills are produced at the Bushmills distillery in Northern Ireland.
