Moët Hennessy has appointed the current “global lead for high energy occasion” to head up its operations across north Asia.
Patrick Madendjian (below), who has been with the group since October 2008, has assumed the position of MD for Moët Hennessy North Asia alongside his current responsibilities. The “global lead for high energy occasion”, according to his LinkedIn profile, will be based out of Hong Kong.
Details of who Madendjian is replacing were not immediately available.
During his 17 years to-date with the company, he spent 18 months in Mexico as group marketing manager for spirits in the country, before heading to South Africa for almost five years, initially as market GM, then as regional marketing & commercial director across Africa and the Middle East.
As well as MD for “South East Asia Emerging Markets” for almost two years (2020-2022), Medendijian’s experience in Asia also featured a three-year stint leading the joint Moët Hennessy and Diageo units in Malaysia and Singapore, which will end as a result of his latest promotion.
Moët Hennessy will announce its calendar-Q2 results on Wednesday (23 July). In April, the brand owner booked a fifth consecutive quarter of declining sales, down 9% in the three months to the end of March.
