Nicaraguan premium rum brand Flor de Caña has signed a distribution agreement in Italy with Fratelli Branca Distillerie.
Under the deal, effective since the start of this month, Milan-based Fratelli Branca will distribute Flor de Caña’s full portfolio nationwide. The rum brand’s owner, Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua, said it plans to support the roll-out with brand-building activity and a refreshed packaging design, scheduled to be unveiled later this year.
The partnership brings together two family-owned businesses, both now led by fifth-generation owners. Global Drinks Intel has asked Licorera de Nicaragua if this marks Flor de Caña’s debut in Italy.
Last month, Dominican rum brand Candela Mamajuana commenced the roll-out of an updated look as part of a broader push into additional US markets and the global travel retail channel.
