UK-based Ellers Farm Distillery has revised the “visual identity” of its Dutch Barn vodka brand ahead of a marketing activation in its home market.
Featuring the tagline ‘Positively Different’, the campaign sees the introduction of three new colours to Dutch Barn along with an updated typeface. The push, comprising out-of-home materials and consumer sampling opportunities, launches in the UK next week focused around London and Ellers Farm’s home region of Yorkshire in the north of the country.
Digital and social media activity, meanwhile, will feature comedian Ricky Gervais, who purchased an unspecified-size holding in Ellers Farm late last year.
“For too long, we believe that the bar in vodka has been pretty average,” said CMO Ross Haddow. “Dutch Barn has approached things differently – from how it’s made, the processes we follow at our distillery, down to the packaging we show up in – it’s all counter-category, but done with positive intent.
“We want to shake up the category and have a bit of fun at the same time.”
Earlier this month, Coca-Cola HBC appointed a new UK distributor for Finlandia, following its purchase of the vodka brand from Brown-Forman in November.
