Diageo has separated the airline and cruise ship functions of its Global Travel Retail business through the creation of a new internal sub-division.
The unit, announced this week, has been handed a three-year growth plan for its operations around passenger flights, both on the ground and in the air, and holidays on cruise ships. Among the ‘Cruise & Airline’ team’s opportunities, according to Diageo, are “more obvious limited editions, rare liquids and digital displays to digital catalogue and website innovation, gifting activations, bars and more experiential work”.
The unit, which sits under Diageo Global Travel, will be headed up by Emily Lively, who has been with the group since late 2013. Lively started out as associate brand manager for Baileys in her native Canada and moves up from account manager for key accounts in the US & Canada, a role she has held for just over four years.
Earlier this year, the brand owner ran a pop-up activation in London Heathrow’s [LHR] Terminal 5 for Tanqueray 0.0%.
