Diageo has unveiled the second bottle in tequila brand Don Julio’s 70 Añejo Cristalino Artist Edition series.
The updated design (below), which is inspired by the ‘Día de Muertos’ holiday in Mexico, features Mexican-American fashion designer Willy Chavarria’s signature red rose motif alongside Mexican iconography. The bottle, which marks the continuation of a collaboration that began with last year’s first Artist Edition, contains Don Julio 70 Cristalino, a filtered, 18-month-old añejo.
The limited-edition release will be available nationwide in the US and online for domestic delivery at an SRP of US$69.99 per 75cl bottle.
Alongside the bottle, Chavarria has also created a limited jewellery collection produced in Mexico City. The three-piece set will be auctioned online through Charitybuzz, with proceeds earmarked for the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture (NALAC) and Plataforma Arte Contemporáneo.
In March, Diageo announced a high-profile “creative partnership” with disc jockey Peggy Gou for Don Julio.
