High-end lifestyle platform Robb Report has acquired an unspecified interest in Welsh gin brand Cygnet Gin.

The news, announced this week, has been positioned as a “strategic investment” by the California-headquartered publisher. While further details were not immediately available, Global Drinks Intel has contacted both parties for information on the sum invested and any subsequent changes to Cygnet’s board and/or ownership structure.

“In the same way iconic spirits like Grey Goose and Don Julio 1942 redefined their categories, the brand is leading the charge in elevating the ‘premiumisation’ movement within both the gin segment and the wider spirits industry,” said Robb Report.

Cygnet’s chair and, since late 2024, part-owner, Matteo Fantacchiotti, added: ““Robb Report’s investment represents a groundbreaking partnership as its unmatched reach and influence provide a powerful platform to enhance consumer engagement and establish Cygnet as a leader in luxury spirits.

“In today’s spirits landscape, I believe this investment marks not only a major milestone for us at Cygnet but also a very positive event in the evolution of the luxury spirits industry as a whole.”

Almost exactly a year ago, Cygnet, which was founded in 2023, secured a production arrangement with compatriot Penderyn Distillery in Swansea.
