UK-based Cygnet Gin has hired two former Edrington executives to lead its entry into the US market.
The appointments coincide with a recent distribution deal with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and see Jada Capuano (below, left) join the business as US VP on 14 October. Meanwhile, Max Gettinger (below, right) became US brand director on the same day.
Capuano worked most recently as VP for the ‘South Division’ in the US at Edrington, where she also oversaw the Macallan owner’s ‘Latin America’, ‘Caribbean’ and global travel retail operations, spending a total of nine years with the business. Prior to that, she worked for Starboard Cruise Services for ten years.
The new US brand director, meanwhile, joins Cygnet after six years with Edrington in senior marketing roles. Beforehand, he worked for Gem&Bolt, a mezcal company.
Global MD Vedran Milosevic described the appointments as “a pivotal moment” for the company, adding that the US is a “critical and highly valuable market” for Cygnet’s growth ambitions.
In January, the gin owner, which was co-founded by opera singer Katherine Jenkins, agreed a production arrangement with Wales-based Penderyn Distillery.
