UK-based high-end gin brand Cygnet has lined up its debut in the US, securing distribution in the country through Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
The brand, co-founded by opera singer Katherine Jenkins (above), launched in late 2022 and is set to expand its reach across the Atlantic next month. Two iterations of the brand will be available, Cygnet 22 and Cygnet 77, with respective SRPs of US$66 and $150.
The “initial focus” from Southern Glazer’s will be on Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami and New York City, targeting “top bars, high-end restaurants, and speciality retailers”.
“This agreement with Southern Glazer’s represents a defining moment for Cygnet Gin,” said company chair – and former Campari Group CEO – Matteo Fantacchiotti. “Their scale, expertise and passion for premium spirits make them the ideal collaborator to help us on our mission to build a new luxury segment in gin and to create more value for consumers and customers.”
Fantacchiotti acquired a stake in and became chair of the privately-owned company late last year. His tenure as the head of Campari Group lasted just five months, after he left “due to personal reasons” almost exactly 12 months ago.
