‘Both consumers and our on-premise partners [in the US] have embraced iconic Italian brands creating vibrant social experiences centred around the spritz.’

Campari Group has commenced shipments of its Crodino alcohol-free aperitif to the US.

The brand, which is produced in Italy, will debut this month in California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland and Washington DC ahead of “additional markets” in the near-future. Available in four-packs of 17.5cl bottles for US$14.99, Crodino will sit alongside Aperol, Campari and Cynar in Campari Group’s ‘House of Aperitifs’ presence in the country.

The launch of the spritz-serve-focused RTD, which has been on sale in its home market since 1965, has been timed to hit the US in time for the summer.

“What’s been particularly exciting is how both consumers and our on-premise partners have embraced … Italian brands, creating vibrant social experiences centred around the spritz,” said Campari America’s head of marketing, Allison Varone. “With the launch of Crodino, we’re expanding the joy of spritz to even more consumers who seek a sophisticated and flavourful non-alcoholic option.”

Just over a year ago, Campari Group lined up a EUR75m (then-US$80m) capacity-increase investment for its production facility in the north-west of Italy. As well as Aperol and Cinzano, the Novi Ligure site also produces Crodino.
