Anora Group has confirmed the pending departure of its CEO less than a year after his appointment.

Jacek Pastuszka (below) will “retire and resign” from the position upon the recruitment of a new CEO, the Finland-based brand owner and distributor said late yesterday. The news comes just under 12 months after Pastuszka joined Anora after having spent a decade with Carlsberg.

The brief statement to Nasdaq Helsinki did not provide reasons for the decision, although the company, which owns the Koskenkorva vodka and Skagerrak gin brands, issued a profits warning earlier this week. Anora’s guidance reduction was blamed on “lower volumes in beverage sales in (the) wine and spirits segments in September than previously forecasted, especially in the monopoly channels”.

In August last year, a near-identical warning was released.

Anora, the result of 2021’s merger of Altia and Arcus, had sales of EUR726.5m (US$791.7m) in the 12 months of 2023. Sales in the first half of this year were down 5.3% on the corresponding period 12 months earlier at EUR324m.
