Moët Hennessy is marking the 250th anniversary of Veuve Clicquot with a global travel retail pop-up – the Champagne brand’s first – in its home market.

The site, in Paris Charles de Gaulle’s Terminal 2E, opened for business on 23 May and runs until 26 June. According to the brand owner’s Travel Retail Europe division, this will be Veuve Clicquot’s “first and only” pop-up in the sales channel.

Four purchasable items, dubbed ‘The Icons’, will be showcased, all of which have been “re-edited with a sustainable twist and second-life options” for the anniversary. The items comprise an ice jacket, an ice box that opens up from its initial presentation box form, a label personalisation service that shows the distance from the purchaser’s destination to the Champagne’s home town of Reims and a chill box designed in partnership with fridge manufacturer Smeg.

“We are thrilled to offer our customers a … retail concept that embodies Veuve Clicquot’s values …, with an emphasis on personalisation and sustainability,” said Moët Hennessy Asia Pacific, travel retail & private sales president Laurent Boidevezi. “. The pop-up … reflects our commitment to creating … eco-friendly experiences for our customers.”

In results for the first three months of 2023, announced in April, Moët Hennessy saw its combined ‘Champagne & Wines’ sales rise by 14% year-on-year, citing “continued robust progress” for the reporting division.
