Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 4 March.

Diageo’s Mortlach Midnight Malt 30 Year Old single malt

 

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Speyside, 30 years old. Finished for an unspecified period in a combination of ex-Bordeaux wine, -calvados and -Guatemalan rum barrels, 49.8% ABV
  • On sale from this week in markets including the US
  • SRP not immediately available, limited to 350 units in total

Campari Group’s Skyy Vodka vodka & soda RTDs

 

  • RTD, vodka-based. Lime & Mint and Lemon & Elderflower, both 4% ABV
  • Launching this month in the US, initially in California, Florida and Texas in the states’ off-premise channels
  • SRP of US$10.99 per four-pack of 35.5cl cans

Douglas Laing & Co’s Scallywag The Chocolate Edition 2024 blended scotch

 

  • Scotch whisky, blended. Finished “predominantly” in ex-port casks for an unspecified period, 48% ABV
  • On sale online and through selected off-premise outlets and spirits specialists from this week, in markets including Germany, the Netherlands and the UK
  • In the UK, SRP of GBP60 (US$77) per 70cl bottle

Pernod Ricard’s Absolut Nights Orange Peel shot-targeted flavoured vodka

 

  • Vodka, flavoured, 35% ABV
  • Rolling out across China at the end of this month
  • SRP of CNY123 (US$17) per 70cl bottle
Absolut Nights Orange Peel
The Nights extension of Absolut has a third variant joining Smoky Piña and Nordic Spice, both of which debuted in China last year

Iichiko Shochu’s Iichiko Special

 

  • Shochu. Aged for “between” five and seven years in virgin American oak and ex-sherry casks, 30% ABV
  • Released online an in selected off-premise outlets for US consumers this week
  • SRP of $110 per 72cl bottle

Distilled by Sanwa Shurui Co on Japan's Kyushu island, the latest expression from the Iichiko shochu brand is available in the US from this week

Lochlea Distillery’s Lochlea Ploughing Edition (Second Crop) single malt Scotch

 

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Lowland, no age statement. Aged in casks previously used to mature single malt on the Scottish island of Islay, 46% ABV
  • Released this week in the UK through Lochlea’s existing stockists in the off-premise channel
  • SRP of GBP51.50 (US$65.30) per 70cl bottle

William Grant & Sons’ Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret limited edition gin

  • Gin. Distillation process includes the use of stone fruit, 43.4% ABV
  • Launching globally this week to around 50 markets
  • In the UK, SRP of GBP32 (US$40.50) per 70cl bottle, available for a maximum of around two years depending on market

Navy Island Rum Co‘s Belizean Blue Silver rum

 

  • Rum, Belize, unaged, 40% ABV
  • Available from this week to European markets, including Czech, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy and Slovakia
  • SRP of EUR27.50 (US$29.80) per 70cl bottle. The packaging has been produced by Frugalpac and contains 94% recyclable paperboard

Produced by Travellers Liquors in Belize, the new release has been certified Fairtrade

Catalyst Spirits’ Howler Head & Cola RTD

 

  • RTD, banana-flavoured bourbon base, 6% ABV
  • Released in Australia this week ahead of other unspecified markets “soon”
  • SRP of AUD29 (US$19) per four-pack of 33cl cans with a ten-pack rolling out in Australia later this year
