The Artisanal Spirits Co, the owner of whisky club The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, has launched a franchise in Vietnam.
The move, announced by the UK-based company today, adds the country to its list of subsidiaries that includes China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. According to the company, the transaction “marks another milestone in [its] strategic expansion in Asia”.
Citing data from IWSR, Artisanal Spirits added that Vietnam has an “estimated total addressable market of US$239m” for “ultra-premium scotch whisky”.
“The addition of the new market in Vietnam further expands our footprint in Asia and gives us direct access to one of the top ten ultra-premium scotch whisky markets, helping us to capture demand for our unique combination of ultra-premium and limited-edition whiskies and outstanding experiences and knowledge,” said CEO Andrew Dane.
