The administrators for Spirit of Harrogate have released details of the sales process for the company’s Slingsby Gin brand.

Earlier this week, the privately-owned company, which is based in the northern English town of the same name, became insolvent due to having “struggled with rising costs and difficult trading conditions in recent years”. Subsequently, BPI Asset Advisory said today (23 January) that it is “seeking urgent interest in one of the UK’s most loved gin brands”.

Included in any sale would be the brand’s existing stock along with its “intellectual property – such as registered trademarks, brand name and recipes – and the company’s social media following, as well as gin tasting equipment, office and IT equipment, and a motor vehicle”.

Interested parties have until 18.00 on Friday 6 February to submit an offer to the asset disposal service.

According to BPI, Spirit of Harrogate has seen its annual sales slide markedly from a high in fiscal 2023 of GBP2.5m (US$3.4m); Fiscal 2024 delivered a top line of GBP2.3m before slipping to GBP1.8m in fiscal 2025. For the current financial year, sales are expected to total GBP1m.

Also today, the JJ spirits brand, which consists of a London Dry and a pink gin alongside a line of vodkas, was sold by UK-based Halewood Artisan Spirits to Poland’s United Beverages Group.
