Rémy Cointreau is preparing a major in-channel push for the first line extension of its The Botanist gin brand.
With an SRP of EUR49.99 [US$53.70] per 70cl bottle, The Botanist Hebridean Strength will be released exclusively to Global Travel Retail in April. The expression carries an ABV of 51.5%, an increase of 5.5% on its parent, and uses “a more intense blend” of the same 22 botanicals.
Through an arrangement with outlet operator Gebr Heinemann, the new release is currently on sale at GTR stores in Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Istanbul, Sydney and Vienna, The global roll-out will follow in two months’ time.

The Botanist is produced at the group’s Bruichladdich distillery on the Scottish island of Islay.
In results for the nine months to the end of December, announced last month, Rémy reported a 10% year-on-year rise in sales, crediting a “steep rally” from GTR in Asia Pacific.
