Moldova-headquartered Purcari Wineries has submitted a binding offer to acquire full ownership of Eastern European peer Serve Ceptura to expand its footprint in Romania.

Privately owned Romanian wine group Serve Ceptura operates around 60 hectares of vineyards in the country’s Dealu Mare wine region and produces approximately 500,000 bottles annually. The deal, which was outlined by Purcari in a statement late last week, includes “full-cycle winemaking facilities” and approximately 1m litres of storage capacity.

No financial terms were disclosed.

Serve Ceptura is located 1.5 km from one of Purcari’s flagship wineries, Crama Ceptura. The group said the proximity “enables immediate operational synergies, improved efficiency across the value chain, and consolidates Purcari’s Dealu Mare platform.”

Purcari founder Victor Bostan said: “By uniting two producers deeply committed to authenticity and terroir, while leveraging Purcari’s scale and international reach, we aim to further strengthen Romania’s
presence on global wine markets.”

As well as Romania’s Crama Ceptura, Purcari’s portfolio also includes Château Purcari, Bostavan, Domeniile Cuza and Bardar distillery in Moldova and Angels Estate in Bulgaria. In the first nine months of 2025, the group generated MDL300.6m (US$17.5m) in sales, a 15% year-on-year increase.

Last year, Polish food & drinks business Maspex purchased a controlling stake in Purcari via a voluntary public takeover bid. The deal marked the Żubrówka vodka owner’s fourth acquisition in Romania.

‘We focus on strong local brands with the potential to grow internationally’ – Maspex marketing director Kamil Gębski
