Pernod Ricard has preceded its fiscal 2023 results announcement with a reorganisation of its business structure at a senior level.

The group, which reports its latest figures tomorrow [Thursday], will increase the size of its executive board – renamed the executive committee – from six members to nine. At the same time, Pernod Ricard will phase out the ‘Europe, Middle East & Africa and Latin America’ and ‘Asia’ regional entities.

EMEA/LATAM CEO Gilles Bogaert and Asia CEO Philippe Guettat will subsequently assume the newly created roles of executive VP of global markets and of global brands, respectively. Both executives will sit on the committee, along with North America CEO Ann Mukherjee.

At the same time, Pernod Ricard’s markets will be regrouped into ten “management entities”, while a 30-strong ‘executive leadership team’ has been formed that includes the head of divisions such as The Absolut Co, Chivas Brothers and Irish Distillers.

The redraw, which follows the retirement of global business development MD – and board member – Christian Porta, is designed to “ensure even greater efficiency at all levels … and a closer proximity and reactivity to the … marketplace”.

Pernod Ricard will be looking to have built on the +7.6% sales showing from the first nine months of fiscal 2023 in tomorrow’s results. The company said in April it expected the final quarter – to the end of June – to do well “on a favourable comparison basis”.
