Moët Hennessy has sold its share in SirDavis American ‘Whisky’ to Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, two years after co-launching the brand.
The pair partnered to create the brand in 2022, releasing the no-age-statemented expression, named after the US singer’s great-grandfather, in 2024. No reason was given for Moët Hennessy’s decision to sell its undisclosed stake in the business – Global Drinks Intel has contacted both parties for comment.
In a short statement today (28 July) a Sirdavis spokesperson said: “SirDavis starts its new independent chapter, after a nearly four-year transformative collaboration through creation, development and launch.
“Knowles-Carter … takes full ownership and control, making SirDavis a woman, family and Black-owned company. She builds on the tradition of creating and running her companies, built from the ground up.”
Financial details of the deal were not immediately available.
Sirdavis was initially rolled out in the US and UK off-premise channels, along with selected airports in the former, with an SRP of US$89 in the US and GBP79 (US$102.50) in the UK. At the time, Moët Hennessy declined to share details about where the whisky was produced.
In April 2025, Moët Hennessy expanded the brand’s reach to include Asia’s global travel retail channel. The release was accompanied by a digital campaign in the region, fronted by “key opinion leaders”.
In the second quarter of 2026, Moët Hennessy maintained its first-quarter momentum by recording a second successive 5% revenue rise. The results – released yesterday, 27 July – mark the first time Moët Hennessy has recorded two successive quarters of revenue growth since late 2023.
