A drinks executive with stints at Anheuser-Busch InBev, Heineken and William Grant & Sons on their resume has started in their new role as CMO for Tequila & mezcal brand owner Lobos 1707.
Cindy Wang Simms started with the company in December, although the move was confirmed this week. Details on whether the position has been newly created were not immediately available.

Wang Simms joins Lobos 1707 from the US division of AB InBev, where she was VP of marketing for the Hawaiian craft beer brand, Kona. She transitioned with Kona’s parent, Craft Brew Alliance, to the world’s biggest brewer in late 2020 following its takeover of the craft beer group.
Prior to her six-and-a-half years in beer, Wang Simms was senior brand manager for William Grant’s Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey brand for five years, having previously worked on the brand manager side for Heineken USA between 2003 and 2010.
She will work alongside founder & “chief creative officer” Diego Osorio and CEO Dia Simms.
Lobos 1707 was founded three years ago and has a four-strong portfolio featuring three Tequilas and a mezcal, all of which are finished in ex-Pedro Ximénez barrels. The Joven white Tequila retails online for US$49 per 75cl bottle.
