Poland’s United Beverages Group has agreed to take the JJ Family Distillers spirits mark off Halewood Artisanal Spirits’ hands.

Described by its new owner as “one of the leading brands in the vodka and gin segment in the UK”, the full JJ range, comprising six vodka SKUs along with a London Dry and a pink gin, will move across for an undisclosed sum. Halewood, which is based in the UK, also owns the Whitley Neil gin brand.

United Beverages, which, as well as its Polish distribution business for third-party alcohol brands, also owns the Krupnik vodka mark, has secured Halewood as JJ’s UK distributor.

“The acquisition of the JJ brand is another element of the group’s strategy of acquiring leading brands,” said chair William Carey. “JJ is one of the fastest-growing brands in the UK and has significant growth potential in the export area.”

Halewood CEO Stewart Hainsworth added: “The sale … and … distribution agreement is another exciting step in Halewood’s growth as part of our craft brand strategy.”

In 2020, United Beverage purchased the Sobieski vodka distillery in Poland from Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits, although the latter retained the brand for itself.
