Brown-Forman and The Coca-Cola Co have brought their co-branded whiskey & cola RTD ‘home’ with the Jack Daniel’s & Coke premix hitting the US this week.
Just over nine months after teaming up, announcing a Mexico debut for the beverage in June, the two brand owners have commenced the nationwide roll-out across the US. The RTD, comprising a mix of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey with Coca-Cola, carries an ABV of 7% and is on sale now in four-packs of 35cl cans.
A spokesperson for Brown-Forman told Global Drinks Intel the SRP has been set at US$12.99, adding that ‘JD & Coke’ “will continue to expand to other global markets within North America and Europe throughout 2023”.
Details around other potential pack sizes, or the zero-sugar version mooted last year, were not disclosed.
At the start of this year, Brown-Forman CEO Lawson Whiting forecast growth across the group’s stable of brands in the coming months. “Brown-Forman’s premium and super-premium portfolio is as strong as ever, and I expect all of our brands to grow in 2023,” Whiting told Global Drinks Intel. “With the addition of [recently-purchased brands] Gin Mare and Diplomatico, we’ll have a strong presence in super-premium gin and rum, which are both experiencing significant growth.
“Of course, as the new Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola RTD enters new markets, I expect we’ll see a nice bit of growth there as well.”
