New Zealand winemaker Invivo has received financial backing from Indevin Group as it looks to expand further in international markets.
The deal will see Indevin take a stake in the business and join the Invivo board, while also entering into a long-term supply chain agreement to help boost distribution, scale production and increase marketing for Invivo’s wine brands. These include Invivo Wines, Invivo X, SJP and Graham Norton’s GN Wines.
The value of the investment was not disclosed.
Invivo said it will continue to operate as an independent business, with its co-founders Rob Cameron and Tim Lightbourne (left and right) retaining ownership alongside celebrity collaborators Graham Norton and Sarah Jessica Parker, the company’s employees and around 800 retail investors.
“This is a game-changing partnership for us,” said Lightbourne. “With Indevin’s investment, we’ll have the resources to take Invivo to the next level, while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit that’s always driven us.”
Indevin – which also owns Villa Maria – is New Zealand’s largest wine producer and holds vineyards across the Marlborough, Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne regions. CEO Simon Limmer said the move supports its “market-led strategy” and “vision to lead the global market for premium New Zealand wines”.
Limmer took the helm in 2023 when Indevin founder Duncan McFarlane retired after 20 years as its leader.
