Hotaling & Co has strengthened its distribution partnership in the US with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
The distributor, which handles 28 states for the brand owner and importer, will take on a further 15 markets from the start of next year. Subsequently, Hotaling will become “the largest artisanal spirits player within [Southern Glazer’s] ‘Craft Collection Luxury Spirits’ division.
“Historically, Hotaling has focused on small, artisanal brands in the on-premise, but has embarked on an effort to bring those … brands to the growing community of spirits and cocktail enthusiasts who want to drink better, not more,” the distributor said. “Through the national alignment with Southern Glazer’s, Hotaling gains access to … the powerful data, resources and capabilities made available to strategic suppliers that will enable this growth.”
Based in San Francisco, Hotaling was formerly known as Anchor Distilling Co and deals with importation responsibilities for the likes of Berry Bros & Rudd in the UK and Italy’s Luxardo liqueur portfolio. In September, the company took on Morris of Rutherglen’s Australian whisky portfolio, comprising two expressions priced between US$59.99 and $89.99.
