A former senior executive with Campari Group has been appointed as the next CEO of Guala Closures.
Mauro Caneschi left the Aperol brand owner in late July after almost ten years to assume the new position. Having risen to become MD for the Americas three years ago, Caneschi, who left Heineken in 2014 to join Campari Group, is moving across Milan to lead the closures producer this month.
He replaces Gabriele Del Torchio, who is transitioning to the role of group chair.

During Del Torchio’s tenure, which commenced in 2021, Guala’s annual sales have risen from EUR565m {then-US$672.6m] to EUR920m [US$987.6m], to the end of June. He also oversaw last year’s acquisition of Labrenta as part of Guala’s strategy to target the “luxury segment” in beverage alcohol.
“I am very pleased [Mauro Caneschi] is joining Guala Closures as CEO to lead the group in its next phase of growth,” said Del Torchio. “He has a significant understanding of Guala Closures’ end-markets, thereby enabling the group to continually improve its client-led focus.”
Also today, Campari Group announced the pending departure of its longstanding CEO, Bob Kunze-Concewitz.
