Piper-Heidsieck owner Européenne de Participations Industrielles has appointed Stéphane Decaux as the next CEO of the champagne brand and business.
Decaux (below), who has spent the last three years with Nicolas Feuillatte owner Terroirs et Vignerons de Champagne as GM, has started in his new role this month. Details of who he has replaced were not immediately available.
Decaux will report in to EPI’s wines & champagnes president, Damien Lafaurie.
“Stéphane Decaux has spent his career shaping the success of iconic brands through brand strategy, innovation and business development,” EPI said. “As Piper-Heidsieck celebrates its 240th anniversary, he takes the helm of the house with a clear ambition: to … strengthen its influence in France and internationally.
“As we further cement our position in the high-end champagne market, Stéphane Decaux will also oversee the continued progress of our sustainability commitments, including the efforts that led to our B-Corp certification in 2022.”
Private investment group EPI acquired Piper-Heidsieck along with partner brand Charles Heidsieck from Rémy Cointreau in 2011.
