Diageo has recruited Japanese model & actor Arat Iura for a one-time marketing move for Johnnie Walker’s Blue Label iteration.
In a sponsored-content deal, Iura features in the Japanese-language edition of Forbes magazine, as well as in video content (below). The theme of the interview revolves around Johnnie Walker’s strapline, ‘Keep Walking’, and Iura is asked how he “moves forward”.
“Even when you think you’ve stopped moving forward, you’re actually making progress,” Iura is quoted as saying.
The activity is a one-off partnership, Diageo has confirmed to Global Drinks Intel. South Korean model & actor Byeon Woo-seok was recruited as a global ambassador for Walker in April.
Earlier this week, Diageo unveiled a limited-edition pack for the blended scotch whisky designed by celebrity partner Sabrina Carpenter. The ‘Espresso’ singer signed a “multi-year” collaboration deal with the brand last year.
