Zamora Co has promoted from within for the next lead of its operations in the US.

Matt Appleby, who joined Zamora Co USA four years ago as marketing director, will replace Bill Corbett as divisional CEO. While Corbett is retiring, the privately-owned Spanish company said Appleby has been filling the role on an interim basis since November.

Further details on the handover were not immediately available.

Before he joined the Licor 43 brand owner, Appleby worked for drinks companies including Remy Cointreau, Brown-Forman and Pernod Ricard. He switched across from Rebecca Creek Distillery in Texas to take the role of national marketing director at the division in 2019.

Zamora, which also has Yellow Rose whiskey and Martin Miller’s gin in its portfolio, set up the US unit five years ago. The company also stated that volumes for Licor 43 in the country increased by 140% between 2018 and 2022.
